Universal Studios Hollywood’s Horror Nights begin this Thursday, September 7th!
Stranger Things is back at Horror Nights, along with other frightful characters like the Universal Monsters, Chucky, The Exorcist, and many more including the popular PlayStation game turned to HBO show, The Last of Us. New this year, there will be Horror entertainment along with the mazes and scare zones. Bloom House: Behind the Screams will take over the Kung Fu Panda Dreamworks Theater for a 4D haunting experience while The Purge: Dangerous Waters will haunt guests at the Water World location during Horror Nights.
While we are excited about the mazes and new entertainment, we can’t wait for the hauntingly delicious new food and drinks. Horror Nights will have five locations with new Horror Nights specialty food, they are Chucky’s Killer BBQ, Peacock’s Halloween Horror Bar, Dia De Los Muertos Bar, Stella Bar, and Mummy Eats.
Chucky, who just wants to be your best friend, is back to scare and feed guests. The Chucky Souvenir Popcorn Bucket talks, moves, lights up and looks like the terrifying doll from the movies. This souvenir bucket has been a hit and popular item in Horror Nights Orlando, so for those Chucky fans who want to get their hands on one, we suggest getting them early before they sell out. The popcorn cart is in front of the plaza, to the left of Chucky’s Killer BBQ.
Speaking of Chucky’s Killer BBQ, that will be the first Horror Nights specialty eatery you stumble upon. A few yards after you enter the restaurant will be to your right, decked out with Chucky banners and movie props inside. Chucky’s will be offering “Friends to the Burnt End Sandwich,” which is a tri-tip BBQ sandwich, “Always Comeback Corndog,” “Child’s Play Funnel Cake,” and “A Clucking Nightmare Sandwich,” Nashville hot popcorn chicken sandwich.
A few feet away Chucky’s BBQ will be where the party is at! The Universal Plaza will host Peacock’s Halloween Horror Bar and the Dia De Los Muertos Bar. The Peacock Bar will have the Purge Punch, Peacocktail, and Charles Lee Ray drinks while the Dia De Los Muertos Bar will have Latin Folklore Cocktails: Tlahuelpuchi Margarita, El Silbon Mule, La Lechuza, and La Muerte alcoholic beverages. But fear not, the Little Cocina in the Plaza will offer Beef Birria Tacos, that will surely pair well with those drinks.
We now make our way down the Star Way to the Lower Lot. Before we continue on what new eats Horror Nights this year, we would like to point out that with Starnger Things’ return, Scoops A’Hoy and Surfer Boy Pizza are also back! Joining those two establishments with new food this year will be the Stellar Bar and Mummy Eats.
Stellar Bar will have tons of new food. They’ll have Truffle Fries, Demogorgon Pizza, Pineapple Buffalo Wings, and what surely many will want to try, Pizza Fries. Lastly, Mummy Eats will be offering the “Cordyceps Corndog,” also in the lower lot.
Fall is coming and the Halloween events will kick off this Thursday!
