Universal Studios Hollywood (and Orlando) have started revealing Horror Night mazes for this year. First, they revealed “Child’s Play,” Chucky, the murderous doll, will be roaming the Universal mazes scaring guests with a knife in hand. The second, and latest, reveal was “The Last of Us.”
The Last of Us started off as a popular Sony Playstation action-adventure game back in 2013 in which Joel (the main character) lives in a world after a global pandemic destroys civilization. Joel is tasked with taking Ellie (a 14-year-old girl), whose blood is considered to have the cure to end this fungal pandemic. His mission, navigating through cities filled with “clickers,” the infected, and other obstacles to get Ellie to safety and the hands of scientists who can help find a cure.
Recently HBO converted this Playstation action-adventure game into a live-action TV series, starting Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. The show was a success with a second season already being planned, and now Sony will be lending its rights to Universal can create a haunting maze.
We can’t wait for more maze announcements and to hear (and see) what frightening food will be offered this year. Being a fan of both the game and show, we are truly excited to see how this is converted into a Horror Nights maze. Our only hope is that some of those “punny” jokes are included throughout the maze.
