Tiana’s Palace Has An Opening Date and Menu

The French Market (the quick service restaurant between New Orleans Cafe and The Haunted Mansion) at Disneyland closed earlier this year to make way for Tians’s Palace, a Princess Tiana (from ‘Princes and the Frog’) themed restaurant. Now we have an opening date and a sneak peek at the menu!

Tiana’s Place will open on September 7th. This new reimagined restaurant will serve New Orleans-style food, just like in the movie.

There will be three different Gumbo plates: the 7 Greens Gumbo comes with white beans, okra, yams, sweet potatoes, and heirloom rice. The 7 Greens Gumbo with Chicken and Andouille Sausage comes with precisely what it sounds like. The last gumbo offered is the House Gumbo, which combines braised chicken, andouille sausage, and heirloom rice.

If you want some of that Louisiana spice you should try the Cajun Spice Half Chicken, chicken brushed with a house-made chicory BBQ sauce and served with baked macaroni and cheese & coleslaw.

You can’t visit a New Orleans restaurant that doesn’t have a Po-Boy on the menu. At Tiana’s, you can get a Beef Po-Boy sandwich that features some slow-cooked beef perfectly coated with gravy and fully dressed with shredded lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise atop toasted New Orleans French bread.

The last dish we will be highlighting will be the Gulf Shrimp and Grits. This dish consists of grilled shrimp tossed in Creole sauce paired with cheesy grits.

The French Market was known for the Mint Julep Bar which served Mint Juleps and the popular Mickey-shaped Beignets. While the Mickey-shaped beignets have moved over to the Royal Street Veranda, Tiana’s Place will serve its own beignet, the House-filled Beignet. The House-filled Beignet features a delicious lemon icebox pie filling topped with lemon glaze.
